VAT calculator
Type an amount, choose whether it already includes VAT, and see the net amount, the VAT and the total at once.
How the calculation works
Add VAT: VAT = amount × rate ÷ 100, and total = amount + VAT. For example, 100 at 15% gives 15.00 VAT and 115.00 in total.
Remove VAT: amount before VAT = total ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), and VAT = total − amount before VAT. For example, 115 at 15% gives 100.00 before VAT and 15.00 VAT.
Results are rounded to 2 decimal places, the way they are shown on a tax invoice.
Frequently asked questions
What is the VAT rate in Saudi Arabia?
The standard rate is 15%, in force since 1 July 2020. Some supplies are zero-rated or exempt under the VAT law.
How do I find the VAT inside a price that includes VAT?
At 15%, divide the price by 1.15 to get the amount before VAT; the rest is VAT. That is the same as multiplying the price by 15 and dividing by 115.
Is this calculator free to use and share?
Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and stores nothing. You are welcome to link to it from your own site.
