Gift cards

What it does for your business

Sell a gift card for any amount, with a printed or typed number, an expiry and the buyer if you like. It is booked as money held for the holder, not as a sale, so no VAT until it is spent. At the POS and on sales invoices the cashier types the card number, sees what is left and takes it as a payment; the sale carries its VAT as usual. See every card's balance, what was sold and spent each month, and what is still owed to card holders.
