Journal vouchers
Post manual entries to the ledger: accruals, corrections, reclassifications and opening entries. A voucher has two or more lines, each a debit or a credit to one of the store's accounts, and posts only when the debits equal the credits. A posted voucher is never edited: a mistake is reversed, which posts the mirror entry on a date you choose and keeps both on record. Part of the Accounting add-on.
Steps
- Open Accounting → Journal vouchers and press New voucher.
- Choose the date and write a memo that says what the entry is for.
- Add the lines: pick each account and type its debit or its credit. Typing one clears the other.
- Check that the Difference is 0.00, then press Post.
- To undo a voucher, open it, press Reverse, choose the reversal date and write the reason.
Tips
- Posted vouchers show on the Ledger, Postings and the trial balance like every other entry.
- A date in a locked period cannot be posted or reversed; ask an admin to unlock it on Period lock.
