Ledger
See every posting to one account with a running balance from its opening balance, filter by date or transaction type, and export to PDF or CSV.
Steps
- Choose the account from the account list (grouped by type), for example 1000 Cash on hand.
- Set a date range; postings before the start are added into the opening balance.
- Optionally filter by "Transaction type" or search by reference or description.
- Read Opening balance, Total debits, Total credits and Closing balance in the stats bar.
- Click a row to open the source document; the "Contra" line shows the other account.
- Use "Export" for a PDF report or CSV file.
Tips
- With a type or search filter, the running balance includes only the rows shown, so it may differ from the account balance.
- The balance follows the account nature: debits increase assets and expenses; credits increase liabilities, equity and revenue.
- Open a ledger directly by clicking an account in the chart of accounts or in postings.
- Use "Clear" to remove the search, type and date filters at once.
- Signed in to your store, the ledger reads every posting on the server from the store's first day, so it agrees with the chart of accounts; earlier postings form the Balance brought forward row.
