Steps

  1. Open Settings → Import from another system. Choose what to bring over (products, customers or vendors) and the system it comes from; the screen says where that system's export is.
  2. Choose the exported Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file, or copy the cells with their header row and paste them.
  3. Starting from a blank sheet? Press Sample sheet (Excel) or Sample sheet (CSV): it has StartERP's columns for your country and business, an example row and notes on how to fill each column.
  4. Under Match the columns, check which column each field reads and change any that is wrong.
  5. Under Check, then bring over, see the rows ready, already in StartERP and with errors, then press Bring over. Download the rows to fix, correct them and import that file again.

Tips

  • Products already in the store (same code) and customers or vendors already there (same name, VAT number or phone) are skipped, so the same file can be imported twice safely.
  • The quantity on hand becomes opening stock in the main warehouse. A customer's positive balance is what they owe you; a vendor's positive balance is what you owe them. Set the date the balances are as of.
  • Categories that do not exist yet are created. Old .xls files must be saved as .xlsx or CSV first.
