Steps

  1. Open Fixed assets → Report. The tiles give the active assets, the cost, the accumulated depreciation, the book value, the next charge, this year's depreciation and the fully depreciated assets.
  2. By category lists each category's assets, cost, accumulated depreciation, book value and the share depreciated; the last row totals them.
  3. Disposals lists the assets sold or scrapped in the year with the date, the proceeds, the book value and the gain or loss; a row opens the asset. Change the month to move the next charge, the year to date and the disposals to another period.

Tips

  • A fully depreciated asset stays in the register at its salvage value until it is disposed, so its count is a reminder to sell or scrap what is no longer in use.
