Steps

  1. Open Inventory → Tint formulas and press "New formula". Pick the customer (or leave it empty for a house colour), type the colour code and name, choose the system and finish, pick the base paint and the can size in litres, and add each tint with its ml and its cost per litre. Leave the price empty to use the base paint's retail price, or type the price agreed with a contractor. Save.
  2. Open a formula to see "Mix for a can": the ml of each tint for 1, 4 or 18 litres and for the can size you type.
  3. At the paint store POS, tap "Tint" on a line: the customer's saved colours are listed with the tints for that can, and the colour prints on the invoice line.

Tips

  • Tint cost = the ml of each tint ÷ 1000 × its cost per litre; the can's cost is the base's cost plus the tints. A margin under 15% shows as thin, below cost as a loss.
  • Ask StartAI "which colours are we selling below cost" or "what is the formula for RAL 7016 for Al Noor"; StartAI Radio says when a colour sells below cost or on a thin margin.
