Steps

  1. Open Cash register. In Sweden, enter the organisation number and the manufacturing numbers of the cash register and the control unit as registered with Skatteverket. In Norway, enter the organisation number, the cash register ID and the shop's name. In Latvia, enter the tax registration number and the cash register's VID registration and serial numbers. Press Save.
  2. Sell as usual: every receipt prints your registration lines under the VAT number.
  3. Close each till's shift at the end of the day for its Z report, then pick the day under Fiscal day: it shows the first and last receipt numbers, returns, net takings and VAT, any missing number, the Z reports and what the Z report shows (sales, returns, discounts, VAT by rate and payments by method). Download the journal and the Z report, and in Norway the SAF-T Cash Register file when Skatteetaten asks for it.

Tips

  • StartERP is not a certified cash register with its own control unit yet: in Sweden, keep ringing cash and card sales on your certified cash register too. The Next steps card on the page lists what to do for your country.
  • An issued sale or return can't be changed or deleted: to correct one, issue a sales return against it. Payments and remarks can still be added.
  • The ledger files your accountant needs are on the VAT return screen: SIE 4 for Sweden and SAF-T Financial for Norway.
  • Ask StartAI to check a fiscal day: it reads the same receipt numbers, missing numbers and Z reports, and tells you what registration is still missing.
