Steps

  1. Open Sales → Recurring contracts and press New contract. Pick the customer, give it a title, choose how often it is billed and the start date (the first day of the first period), and add the lines billed every period with their price before VAT. Leave the end date empty for a contract that runs until stopped.
  2. When a period starts, the contract shows as Due. Press Bill now: the invoice for the earliest period due opens; report it to ZATCA and take the payment from it as usual.
  3. Set a contract to Paused while the service stops; nothing falls due until it is active again.

Tips

  • A monthly contract keeps its start's day of the month: one starting on the 31st is billed on the last day of shorter months.
  • Deleting an invoice made from a contract makes its period due again. Monthly recurring revenue counts weekly contracts as 52 weeks over 12 months, quarterly ones as a third and yearly ones as a twelfth.
