Steps

  1. Each morning tap the rate button at the top and enter today's rate per gram (24K, 22K, 21K, 18K, silver). Karats left empty are worked out from the purest rate.
  2. On "Sell", scan a tag or tap a piece: the price is net weight × rate + wastage + making + stones. Give a discount on making up to the limit in POS settings, then "Add to bill".
  3. Tap "Old gold" to weigh the customer's gold: choose the karat, gross weight, stones and the melting loss. "Use on this bill" takes it off the new bill; "Buy for cash" pays the customer.
  4. On "Orders & repairs", book a custom order or a repair with an advance (and today's rate if the customer wants it locked); move it to Workshop and Ready, send the WhatsApp note, then "Deliver & bill".
  5. On "Schemes", enrol a customer with a monthly instalment and take each payment; when it matures, "Redeem" puts the savings and the shop's bonus on a new bill.

Tips

  • Give a product its metal, karat, weights, making charges and HUID in the product form; the starter catalog has rings, chains, bangles, coins and silver to begin with.
  • Tax: India bills jewellery at 3% GST (making included) and repairs at 5%; in the Gulf jewellery takes the store's VAT and 24K investment bars and coins are 0%. A bill has one rate, so bill a repair apart from jewellery.
  • Old gold is saved as a purchase of old gold (by gram, no tax); advances and scheme instalments are debit notes (customer advances) that settle the bill on delivery.
